Golf Entry Rules

  1. Entries acceptable only from men working directly in petroleum exploration, production, service and supply.
  2. No Entries accepted if received after 12:00 noon, June 3rd, 2011.
  3. 144 entries can be accepted and each entry must be mailed in a separate envelope with a separate cheque.
  4. If the tournament cannot be held, entry fees will be returned, less cost of administration.
  5. Rules of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club will be strictly enforced.
  6. Golf Carts will be supplied to every golfer for both days, all rounds, weather permitting.
  7. Hotel rooms are available at the Holiday Inn, 6500 - 67 St., Red Deer, phone (403) 342-6567, mention Oilmen's Tournament for a discount.

The Royal Canadian Golf Association Rules

Govern except as modified by local rules.

  1. All games will be match play, except the Waskasoo Event.
  2. The first three matches are 9-hole matches only. Finals are 18 holes.
  3. Motorized golf carts may be used. Those persons with valid medical certificates will have preference.
  4. Lost balls, out of bounds or unplayable lies, resulting from a tee shot: Drop your second ball at the drop flag area at the side of the fairway and you are playing your fourth stroke. This rule takes precedence over any other rule.
  5. Fences: If a ball is played outside the limits of the Course as defined by any fence, it shall be treated as out of bounds. Penalty: two Strokes.
  6. A 3-minute time limit will apply in looking for lost balls.
  7. A Ball lying next to a newly-planted tree, supported by a white stake, or marked by a ribbon, may be moved two club lengths.
  8. It is not allowed to ground a club in the sand trap. Penalty for infractions: Loss of Hole - Match Play or 2 strokes - Medal Play.
  9. No liquor may be brought onto the Club premises.
  10. All matches will be started on time. If a golfer is late, his opponent will tee off regardless. The late starter will lose each hole played until joining his opponent.
  11. Water on #9 hole is lateral hazard. Play your next shot from the point of entry to the hazard with the hazard between the ball and the flag. Count one stroke for ball in the water.
  12. Roadways right of #6, back of #9, ball may be dropped in designated area - No Penalty.
  13. Beyond the fence back of #9, is out of bounds.
  14. Note: hole in one will only have the 1st hole in one count of the tournament.
  15. Ken Frame, the Club professional, will be judge of play. All rule violations must be identified at the time of the violation and called; the committee will not act on or entertain complaints of rule violations after the fact.
